Taking
Care of St. Paul's
We have a beautiful
church with many beautiful features that literally surround us each time we come together for worship and fellowship.
A wonderful and welcoming stone building, glowing stained glass windows, rich woods above our heads, below our feet and all
around us, rooms where children attend Sunday School, a chapel and places where many other activities occur, a parsonage,
a cemetery, signs, fences, lighting, and so much more.
Taking
care of these assets is an important task. And it is important to try to make sure we are doing things that
need to be done. That is where you come in, because it is important not to overlook anything that should have
been noticed.
The Church Council has established a task force,
led by Council Vice President Pete Snyder, to examine the physical condition, maintenance and capital improvement
needs at St. Paul’s, and develop a strategic plan for addressing those needs. This effort is focused
on our existing facilities rather than projects that may occur as part of the new land acquisition.
Some work has already been identified and begun, such as the water and sewer effort,
kitchen and fellowship hall improvements, and the organ repairs. Other projects, such as repairing the stained glass
windows, are well known and awaiting action. But there may also be things that someone noticed that needed attention,
or something that ought to be done but hasn’t, and that’s what you can tell us about.
Are there repairs that are needed? Are there things that could improve our church facilities?
Are there things that could lead to cost savings or better usage of what we have? Are there people or companies
you know that have provided outstanding service and value in some of the areas of work that we will be doing at St.
Paul’s? Let us hear from you. Your ideas are important and your guidance can help make our work a success.
You can write any ideas and suggestions on the back of
this page and leave it at the church office. Or you can send an email to Randy Arndt, a member of this task
force, who will bring this information into the work plan. His address is: arndtran@gmail.com
